I’m a mortgage broker who helps people obtain the funds they need to:

  • buy a first home
  • buy investment property or
  • consolidate debts

I also provide a number of educational materials about the above topics as a free service to website visitors.

What’s your background?
I’m Suzanne Strahan, Principal of Suzanne Strahan Finance Brokers. My background is in small business. In 1982 my husband and I established “Hire me! Trailers”. We grew the business to a fleet of 450+ trailers and 40+ Pantec Trucks and Utes, with over 70 sites from Sydney to Cairns. I’ve also established three successful laundromat businesses. Coming from a small business background, I was often in the position of applying for finance. I learnt first-hand what it can be like to visit multiple banks and nervously wait for the results of loan applications.

I also knew that I could facilitate the process for others to make it faster, easier and less stressful to obtain finance. That’s why I made the change to mortgage broking a few years ago.

I’m an Accredited Member of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) & The Credit Ombudsman Service Limited (COSL).

I also buy and renovate investment property in and around Brisbane.

How much does do your services cost?
My service is free of charge. I’m paid a commission by financial institutions themselves.

Where are you located?
I’m a long-term resident of Samford, Brisbane and I focus on serving clients in the Brisbane area.

How are you different from other Mortgage Brokers?
I’m different from other mortgage brokers because I specialise in arranging finance for first home buyers. Although I am able to help you arrange other types of finance (e.g for debt consolidation or investment purposes), I get a real thrill out of helping my clients make their first home purchase.

I would like to think that my personal service is superior to most other mortgage brokers you’re likely to meet. I come to you, listen to your objectives and work extremely hard to help you achieve the best possible outcome.

I also understand that buying your own home or an investment property can be an exciting and sometimes tense experience. I keep in touch with you throughout the whole process to ensure that you’re kept “in the loop”. And I always return your calls promptly – you won’t be left hanging.

You may be concerned that some mortgage brokers are more concerned about their commissions than the best deal for you. My policy is quite simple: if a particular product is the best match for you and your situation, then that’s the product I recommend.
